Psalm 112:1, 6–8 (NIV)“Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands.... Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.”
We live in a world full of uncertainty—bad news seems to come faster than good. But Psalm 112 gives us a powerful truth: Those who fear the Lord and delight in His commands can live with steady hearts, unshaken by fear.
To fear the Lord is not to live in terror but to honour and revere Him—placing Him first in all things. When we delight in His commands, we don’t just read His Word—we love it, live by it, and apply it with joy.
The result? Security. Confidence. Peace.Even when challenges arise, we won’t be overwhelmed—because our trust isn’t in the world, but in the God who holds the world.
God has promised that His people:
Will not be shaken
Will not fear bad news
Will be remembered
Will triumph in the end
Let this psalm remind you that God's promises are firm and faithful. Believe them, and let them anchor your soul today.
