Meditate On the Character of Jesus
Matthew 3:17 (NASB®)“Behold, a voice from the heavens said, ‘This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’”
In a noisy world filled with opinions, hot takes, and ever-shifting values, it’s more important than ever to anchor our hearts in the unchanging character of Jesus. He’s not just a figure in history, a teacher, or a good man—He is the Son of God, declared so from heaven itself.
At His baptism, God the Father spoke clearly for all to hear: “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” This declaration wasn’t just for those standing on the banks of the Jordan River—it’s for us today, as we learn to follow Jesus with confidence and awe.
📖 Who Is Jesus?
Here are just a few names and titles of Jesus found in Scripture, each one revealing a facet of His divine identity:
Immanuel — God With Us “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).” – Isaiah 7:14 (NLT®)Jesus is not far off—He stepped into our world to be near.
Our Saviour — The Way, Truth & Life “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6 (NKJV®)He doesn’t just show us the way—He is the way.
The Bread of Life “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35 (NIV®)He satisfies our deepest hunger and quenches our soul’s thirst.
The Judge “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” – 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NIV®)Jesus will judge with righteousness and truth—there is no injustice in Him.
The King of Kings “On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” – Revelation 19:16 (NIV®)Every knee will bow. He reigns supreme—now and forever.
Think About It
When the world seems unstable—when fears rise, finances shake, or relationships feel uncertain—meditate on the nature of Jesus. He is steady. He is sure. He is our Cornerstone:
“The one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” – 1 Peter 2:6 (NIV®)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, grant me a revelation of Jesus more real than the challenges in my life. Give me an understanding heart so I might know You. I rejoice in Your faithfulness. You are my Rock and my Redeemer. I choose to walk in the path You illuminate. I choose truth over falsehood, faithfulness over scepticism, and hope over despair. I choose to walk in the light. Thank You for Your great mercy on my behalf. I know You will complete the good works You have begun in me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
