God Keeps His Promises

Two hands holding on a textured gold background with text: "God never forgets His people. He never fails His word." Mood: reassuring.
God Never forgets his people

Joel 2:24, 26 (NLT)

“The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and oil. … ‘Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the LORD your God, who does these miracles for you.’”

A Nation Reborn Through Promise

Two years ago today, the world witnessed an act of devastating violence — a brutal terrorist attack on Israel that left scars on families, cities, and hearts. The images were heart breaking. The threats were overwhelming. From a human point of view, survival seemed nearly impossible.

And yet — Israel endures.

Through chaos, fear, and adversity, the Jewish people continue to stand. Their story is not merely one of human resilience or military might; it’s a living testimony of divine faithfulness. Israel’s very survival and flourishing serve as a modern echo of God’s ancient promises spoken through the prophets.

“The presses will overflow with new wine and oil…” — Joel 2:24

This isn’t just poetic imagery. It’s a picture of restoration, abundance, and divine favour — a symbol of God’s hand at work in the life of a nation He chose long ago.

God’s Covenant Still Stands

From the moment God said to Abraham,

“I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you…” (Genesis 17:7),He bound Himself to a people and a promise that would last forever.

Throughout history, Israel has faced destruction, exile, persecution, and war. And yet, every time the world predicted her end, God raised her up again.

The rebirth of Israel in 1948 remains one of the most remarkable events in human history — a desert nation becoming fruitful, vibrant, and prosperous.

Against every odd, the prophecy of Joel has unfolded before our eyes: fields once barren now overflow with grain, vineyards produce abundantly, and innovation flows like oil.

The blessing of Israel is not a political story — it’s a spiritual reality. It’s evidence that God does what He says He will do, no matter how much time has passed.

Faithfulness Then — and Now

When we look at Israel today, we see more than a country; we see a mirror of God’s faithfulness. The same God who has preserved His chosen people for thousands of years is the same God who watches over you.

His promises didn’t end with ancient Israel. They extend to everyone who has placed their hope in Him through Jesus Christ. When life feels uncertain, when you’re surrounded by pressure or opposition, you can stand firm knowing that the God who keeps covenant never fails His Word.

He may not always move according to our timelines, but He always fulfils His promises in His perfect time.

A Spiritual Reminder for Us All

Israel’s story is a reminder that God’s Word is not confined to history books — it’s alive and unfolding even now. Every fulfilled prophecy, every restoration, every harvest of blessing is a declaration that God’s plan still moves forward.

So when your own life feels dry or delayed… when it seems like the promises of God are taking too long to bloom… remember this:

If He can restore a nation from dust, He can renew your life from ashes.

The same God who turned a barren wilderness into a thriving land can bring abundance to your spirit, your family, your future.
